The Consumer Product Safety Commission(CPSC) and the Window Covering Safety Council announced a voluntary recall to repair all Roman shades and Roll-up blinds to prevent a strangulation hazard to young children.  This recall involves millions of shades and blinds that can form a loop and cause strangulation. It is reported, that since 1990, more than 200 infants have died from window blind cords.

Consumers can obtain free retrofit kits at www.windowcoverings.org or by phone at 1-800-506-4636.

  • Move kids cribs, beds, and furniture away from windows and cords
  • Keep all window cords out of reach of young children
  • If the window shade has looped bead chains or nylon cords, install tension devices to keep the cord taut

We recently added bath safety products from Aquatopia to our website KidSafeInc.com .  We were impressed by how well made the products are.  They use quality materials and assembly and it appears the products will last  a long time.

The products are:

Makes bath time safer. It floats in the bath water and measures the water temperature every 2 seconds.

Safety Bath Time Easy Kneeler Deluxe

Makes bath time much more comfortable for parents with a thick pad for your knees and extra padding for your elbows.

Safety Bath Time Faucet & Tap Protector

Separates your child from the bath spout and the water taps. Helps prevent bumps due to slipping or falling and burns due to direct contact with hot water or taps.
