Summer Infant has issued a voluntary recall of its Baby Monitors to provide new product labels and instructions for baby video monitors with electric cords. This action is to warn of a strangulation hazard of placing the electric cords on baby monitors too close to cribs within a child’s reach. There have been seven reports of deaths from all brands of baby monitor cords since 2004.
