The picture showing use of the Fireplace Hearth Baby Gate around what appears to be an operating outdoor barbecue grill shows the “hot” grill in a hazardous fire position almost abutting the rail of a wooden deck. I believe the recommended safe distance from any “wall” when operating a hot outdoor grill is 3 feet or more. In addition, use of a heat resistant mat on a wooden deck (to catch hot grease dripping) under the grill also is recommended, and its use is not shown in the picture.

What can we use to child proof our french patio doors leading to the pool? We have gates around the pool, but the grandkids 2-5 can open the locks on the french doors.
